Citations of individual production merit awarded. The first five Citations of Individual Production Merit have been awarded to five war workers, War Production Drive Headquarters has announced. The citation is the highest honor conferred for individual achievement. It is granted only for ideas or suggestions that have an outstanding effect on the entire war effort. Joseph H. Kautsky, Indianapolis, Indiana, an employee of the Lin-Belt Co., was awarded his citation for four suggestions, each technical. He suggested a grinding wheel adapter, which permits higher speeds in internal grindings; a simplification cutting down the number of special internal grinding spindle wheel adapters from twelve to three; the adoption of a precision screw adjustment to the vertical column of dial indicator guages, to get faster adjustments without danger to the dials; and a new method of testing the concentricity of internally ground parts.
