Whitehall, Clay Lane, Richmond, Madison County, KY
Summary
Significance: Built by General Green Clay, Whitehall became famous as the home of his son, abolitionist Cassius Marcellus Clay, ambassador to Russia. Major Thomas Lewinski, bluegrass architect, designed the addition of 1864 which is an excellent example of regional architecture.
