Medium: Cocus, silver keys, ivory ferrules and inlay at cap.; 32.2 cm.
Key Holes System: 5 keys, post and rod, modern style key cups, on recessed flanges.
Mark Maximum: (bee) / MARTIN / À PARIS/ (monogram)
Mark Additional: Mark on head and body. Mark on foot: (monogram)
Condition: Crack in head joint barrel and upper ferrule. Short F key flange is a nickel silver replacement.
Provenance: George W. Haynes, New York, 22 Mar. 1918.

Miller collection in the Library of Congress, contains nearly 1,700 flutes and other wind instruments, statuary, iconography, books, music, trade catalogs, tutors, patents, and other materials mostly related to the flute. It includes both Western and non-Western examples of flutes from around the world, with at least 460 European and American instrument makers represented. Items in the collection date from the 16th to the 20th century.
