Medium: Cocus, ivory head joint and cap, cocus barrel, nickel silver keys and ferrules.; 61.1 cm.
Key Holes System: 5 keys, saltspoon, pin in block.
Mark Maximum: G. N. MUNGER / NEW-HAVEN / CONN
Mark Additional: Mark on head, upper, foot. Mark on lower: G. N. MUNGER / NEW-HAVEN
Condition: Head joint, both sections, cracked, middle joint socket cracked, E-flat key block cracked on one side, previously repaired with pins. Ivory cap possibly a replacement from another instrument.
Provenance: Whitlock's Book Store, New Haven, Connecticut, 4 Nov. 1940.

Miller collection in the Library of Congress, contains nearly 1,700 flutes and other wind instruments, statuary, iconography, books, music, trade catalogs, tutors, patents, and other materials mostly related to the flute. It includes both Western and non-Western examples of flutes from around the world, with at least 460 European and American instrument makers represented. Items in the collection date from the 16th to the 20th century.
