Named director of Railroad Unemployment Insurance. Washington, D.C., Oct. 3. The Railroad Retirement Board today announced the appointment of James Gordon Robinson as director of Railroad Unemployment Insurance. He was chosen for the post from the open competitive examination conducted by the United States Civil Service Commission, the first ever held for a ten thousand-dollar-a-year administrative position. Mr. Robinson was born in Pittsburgh, PA. in 1895 and has studied in the United States and abroad, including a period as King's Scholar, Skerry's College, Belfast, Ireland, 10/3/38
