Republican leaders express sentiment for late national convention at Washington meeting. Washington, D.C., Dec. 7. Republican Party leaders and members of the Executive Committee of the Republican National Committee met today to discuss presidential campaign problems and consider an embarrassing deficit, at the same time many of the members expressed sentiment for a late national convention and a shorter presidential campaign in 1940.
