War Production Board Sugar Policy Committee. This shows the first meeting of the newly formed War Production Board Sugar Policy Committee. The committee consists of representatives of light government agencies concerned with the sugar problem. The committee was formed to exchange information and to recommend and formulate programs for the correlation of the activities of the various agencies concerned with the sugar problem. A. E. Senate Committee told million railroad employees back Crosser-Wagner Pension Bill. Washington, D.C., May 15. Appearing as the first witness in favor of the Crosser-Wagner Railroad Pension Bill, George M. Harrison, President of the Railway Clerks Association and Chairman of the Railway Labor Executives Association, today told the house Interstate Commerce Committee that 1,500,000 railroad employees favor this new bill which if passed, will replace the present Railroad Retirement Act. Harrison added there was "no doubt of its constitutionality" and that it had been worked out with railroad managements on the understanding that it would not be attacked in courts by them. Television inventor tells Economic Committee of difficulties in getting patents. Washington, D.C., Jan. 19. Philo T. Farnsworth, who conceived the principle of television when 14 years old came before the Temporary National Economic Committee today and told them that his firm, Farnsworth Television, Inc., has taken out 46 patents, has twice as many pending, and that more than 20 patent suits have resulted in which his firm was cleared in each case.
