After hearing the experiences and hardships of the three Brazilian engineers, who finally arrived in the Capital today after a nine-year motor journey from Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian Ambassador Oswaldo Aranha tried his hand at cranking one of the original "flivvers" which survived the arduous trip. Traveling 15,000 miles through 14 countries, the expedition was made in the interest of an international highway between North and South America. In the photograph, left to right: Dr. Leo S. Rowe, Director General of the Pan American Union; Ambassador Aranha Francisco de La Cruz, observer; Leonidas Burges de Oliveira, commander; and Mario Fava, mechanic. 10/29/37
