Soon to be added to the scrap pile is this huge wrought iron gate of the historic Friendship estate, Washington, D.C., which the government has taken over for a huge housing project. This is one of two large gates of the estate, which, along with a 400-foot iron fence, will add 40,000 pounds to the nation's scrap pile. Shown in the picture are, left to right: Robert C.
