Portrait of veterans' friend presented to House Veterans' Committee. Washington, D.C., June 28. Former representative Royal C. Johnson, who left Congress in 1918 to join the army as a buck private, then upon being reelected to Congress, left the service to resume his seat in the House, was today present when a portrait of himself was hung in the House Veterans' Committee. The painting was made for the American Legion which presented to the committee through its national commander Stephen Chadwick. Rep. John E. Rankin, Chairman of the committee accepted it. The portrait was given to the committee for Rep. Johnson's work in sponsoring veterans' legislation and for his work as Chairman of the Committee. Left to right: Commander Chadwick, Rep.
