Statue of acclaimed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in Chandler, Arizona, a southern suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Wright and the city's founder, John Chandler, were friends, and the architect, who had clients in the valley and dreamed of creating a winter home, akin to his summer residence, Taliesin, in Wisconsin, in Chandler's town. But the Great Depression of the 1930s and early 40s intervened, and Taliesin West was never built in the modest community. Instead, it rose later on a hillside overlooking Phoenix in North Scottsdale

Anteater statue unveiled. Washington, D.C., March 25. The lowly anteater was immortalized at the Washington Zoo today when its statue was unveiled with appropriate ceremonies. The statue of bronze, six feet long, three feet high, was done by Edwin Springweiler. The artist inspects sections of the huge Arsenal of Democracy photomontage, which, when assembled, will be 15 x 30 feet. The artist is Jean Carlu who designed this panel and one portraying the Four Freedoms for exhibition by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) at the National and Civilian Defense Exposition at Grand Central Palace, New York and later at defese shows in a number of cities from coast to coast. Carlu's technique is a relatively new one, having been used only once before in photomontage design
