Commercial & Industrial Buildings, Carr, Ryder & Adams Company, Powerhouse, Tenth & Jackson Streets, Dubuque, Dubuque County, IA
Summary
Significance: An integral part of the Carr, Ryder and Adams factory complex, built at a time of tremendous expansion for the firm, this two-story powerhouse is historically significant for its association with one of Dubuque's most important early manufacturers. Architecturally, the building is a handsomely proportioned and relatively well preserved example of the frame/masonry structures built in the city's industrial district in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
