Summary
Significance: The Crown Hill Cemetery Gateway was designed by Adolf Scherrer, an Indianapolis architect of Swiss origins. It was completed in November 1885 in time for the funeral of Vice-President Thomas A. Hendricks. This is an excellent example of high Victorian Gothic architectural design.
