This 15 x 30 foot panel and a second of life size entitled the Four Freedoms were displayed in Defense Square, Washington for a month beginning November 7, 1941. Senate Committee told that telegraph companies cannot meet provisions of wages and hours act. Washington, D.C., May 22. Isador Lubin, Commissioner of Labor Statistics, Department of Labor, today told a Senate Interstate Commerce Committee that Western Union and Postal could not meet provisions of the Wages and Hours Act 'without going further into the red.' He was testifying on a resolution recently introduced by Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana, which would authorize a complete study of the telegraph industry
