Summary
Significance: The Hartford City Public Library is one of the many libraries in the State of Indiana that was established with a grant from Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie gave Hartford City a gift of $16,000 on January 22, 1902, and the building was dedicated on July 2, 1904. It is a significant example of library architecture designed in the Neo-Classical Revival style by architect J.L. Brown, of Hartford City.
