Hubbell Trading Post, Bread Oven, Ganado, Apache County, AZ
Summary
Significance: This is the remains of the third oven constructed at the Hubbell Trading Post. It provided bread for both the family and trade at this trading post as well as outlying Hubbell-run posts from 1925-31. The design may be derived from U.S. Army ovens. Abandoned for over 50 years, the structure is remarkably intact. A wood framed shed once provided weather protection but no longer exists.
