Summary

Significance: Built by Joseph E. Thropp, owner of the Everett iron furnance, this two-and-one-story residence contains a number of Queen Anne elements and is one of the largest houses in Everett and its environs. Thropp was one of many ironmaster of the Upper Juniata region, one of the nation's principal antebellum iron producers. Many of these ironmasters built large residences near their ironworks. Built in the late-19th century, the Thropp residence represents one of the last of these lavish dwellings associated with the Juniata iron industry,
