Monody on the death of Francis Johnson

A lamentation in the form of a poem composed for the funeral of the African American musician, Francis Johnson, who died on April 6,1844, and was buried in the cemetery of St. Thomas African Episcopal Church, Philadelphia, PA.

"Transcribed for Mrs. Johnson by S.M.D., 9 mo. 25th, 1871."
