National Memorial Arch, King of Prussia, Montgomery County, PA
Summary
Significance: Designed by prominent Philadelphia architect Paul Phillippe Cret, was erected in Valley Forge State Park in 1912-16 to commemorate the suffering endured by General George Washington and the Continental Army in the performance of their patriotic duty during the winter encampment of 1777-78. The arch is the largest monument in the park; constructed of milford pink granite it measures 61' to the top of the roof and is 49' wide at the base...
