Significance: The house, built in 1881 for Franz Carl Ludwig Neuhaus, reflects the expectation for future growth in Hackberry. The 2-story house is a light wood frame structure covered by wooden clapboarding siding. Strikingly similar in layout to the L.E. Neuhaus homestead, this larger, updated house shares the massing of a main block and a detached single-story dependency, connected by a later enclosed porch.
