Summary
Significance: The Road S-47 bridge is identified as Chesterfield 2 in the SCDHPT's Metal Truss Highway Bridge Inventory and represents one of 148 metal truss bridges remaining in South Carolina. It is one of five Pratt pony trusses (full hip) with rigid joints that were identified in the survey. Its importance is derived from its architectural significance and historic integrity. It was determined eligible for the National Register January 1, 1983.
