Summary
Significance: Notable for the charming individuality of its design, the intricacy and fine craftsmanship of its ornament, this small, curious, picturesque house was designed, built, and furnished at the turn of the century by Robert Macheck, a gifted Austrian woodcarver. Once threatened by urban renewal, the house has been saved and is now undergoing systematic restoration by its woners.
