Significance: The Sandy Lake Dam Tender's Residence is one of two original buildings remaining at the Sandy Lake Dam Site. The dam site is one of six built by the Corps of Engineers in the Mississippi Headwaters region during the late 19th and early 20th centuries to enhance navigation on the Upper Mississippi River.
