Summary
Significance: The plantation, originally known as Ashe's Neck, is located on Topsail Sound. The house was built by John Baptista Ashe in 1730. His heirs sold it in 1800. Around 1830 Lewis Whitfield acquired the house. His heirs still own the plantation. The house still retains the original fireplace in the living room, and the original doors.
