Summary
Significance: Verona was built by Matt Whittaker Ransom in 1853, its romantic latticework and balconies were inspired by similar structures in Ransom's home town, Shucco Springs, and were not the result of Ransom serving as ambassador to Mexico in 1901 as is often assumed.
