Bridgeton Covered Bridge over Big Raccoon Creek and the adjacent Bridgeton Mill in Indiana's Parke County
Summary
Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.
The mill, the oldest continually operating mill in the state (as of 2016), began operations in either 1848 or 1859 (there are widely divergent local accounts of which is correct) after being built to replace a mill that had burned to the ground. So, too, did the original covered bridge, which an arsonist or arsonists torched in 2005. This one replaced it a years later.
