description

Summary

Annotations on drawing: T 20.
DGS Slide no. 1058.
Sticker: Small Early Blue. Likely same-named church in Columbia, South Carolina, a Gothic Revival brick edifice, 1875, for which Lamb designed a 12-light allegorical series on the Life of Christ. From www.gbgm-umc.org: "The windows were designed in 2 layer glass to heighten the translucent effects of the scenes, and they contain no human figures, only the geographical settings of the events portrayed from Bethlehem to the site of the ascension on the Mount of Olives. The windows were installed in time for the Easter Day dedication in 1914."

Purchase, Donald Samick, 2003 (DLC/PP-2003:109).
Forms part of: Lamb Design Collection.
