Though in French, Fétis is one of the first scholars to address the tonal structure of chant in the brief section about the Coptic Church. This is a related item to Guillaume-André Villoteau. Fétis not only worked on music of the churches of Africa, but also commented on and analyzed Villoteau's transcription of "Alleluia." (General)
