Acheson, former Undersecretary of the Treasury, today told the Senate judiciary subcommittee, that the proposed Constitutional Amendment granting "equal rights" to women would lead only to "confusion." One of the first acts of the ARC was to gather these old people together and try to locate their relatives. Many were restored to their families. Some (whose families probably perished) still remain on hand, but now they are well cared for by local authorities under the patronage of the Red Cross.

So great was the confusion at the opening session of the Conference of Small Business Men today that Secretary Roper was pressed into service to get order.
