Secretary of Treasury Henry Morgenthau, and Rosewell Magill, Undersecretary of Treasury, as they appeared before the Joint Congressional Tax Committee today to urge passage of new legislation which will close the loop-holes in the Federal Tax laws. Representatives of six major commodity exchanges today conferred with Department of Agriculture officials on methods of preventing so-called commodity counselors from defrauding the public through promises of extra-ordinary profits.
