Describes wire-tapping of government phones. Washington, D.C., Jan. 17. Louis R. Glavis, former Interior Department Investigator, today described to the Senate Public Lands Committee how wire-tapping of department telephones was carried on after he discussed leakage of information with Secretary Ickes. He denied that White House wires had been tapped and President Roosevelt demanded such tapping cease. Glavis was summoned before the committee to be questioned on the qualifications of Ebert K.
