Dies Committee appoints subcommittee to hearings on Nazi activities. Washington, D.C., Aug. 22. Members of the House Committee investigating Un-American activities met today and decided to appoint a subcommittee to begin hearings on Nazi activities. The paddlewheel steamboat American Pride passes by the Oregon town of Mosier and the rocky Washington State shoreline, on the Columbia River, enroute to its dock in the city of The Dalles (whose name rhymes with "gals"). Built in 2012 as the Queen of the Mississippi, the cruise boat plied that American river for three years before being moved west and renamed in 2015
