Franklin on new penny, Lincoln on new nickel? Washington D.C., Jan. 22. Henry Smythe, Jr., of New York City, has written a letter to Secretary of Treasury Morgenthau urging that the head of Benjamin Franklin in 1938 adorn the one cent piece and Abraham LIncoln's memory be honored on a new nickle.
