Louis Renault, prominent French auto manufacturer, leaving the White House today after a conference with President Roosevelt on war material production. In the tank cemetery. The territory around Ypres is called the Tank Cemetery for there are still scores of disabled tanks standing on the battlefields. In spite of all this debris of battle the farmers have returned to the country and this spring are putting hundreds of acres under cultivation. Hundreds of them are almost entirely dependent upon American Red Cross aid in getting their homes started and in living through the period of cleaning up their fields and getting ready for the first crops. This house is a typical farm house of the region, constructed entirely from material salvaged from the trenches

Polymerization. When polymerization has reached the proper point, the batch is blown down by butadiene pressure in these blow-down tanks. The unreacted butadiene and styrene are then recovered.
Blending. Many batches of synthetic rubber latex are batched and blended in concrete storage tanks at the Institute plant. This blending assures uniformity of the product. After blending the rubber content is separated by coagulation
Storage. Butadiene, chief ingredient of synthetic rubber, is stored in nine tanks at the Institute plant operated by the United States Rubber Company at Institute, West Virginia. These tanks will hold butadiene for three days operations, the equivalent of more than 180,000 passenger car tires
