"Sagebrush sailors" at war clinic. Contractors' and manufacturers' representatives dubbed themselves "sagebrush sailors" as they posed in an Army assault boat on display at the war clininc being held at the Whitcomb Hotel in San Francisco. Potential sub-contractors were invited to attend the clininc on "Nevada Day," sponsored by the contract distribution branch of the production division, War Production Board (WPB), to negotiate for war contracts.
