Tin Man figures for sale at Bearmeat's Indian Den craft and gift shop in the town of Cherokee, in the Great Smoky Mountain Range of far-western North Carolina. The tin man was a central character in the Frank Baum classic children's novel (later made into a movie) "The Wizard of Oz." The main character, Dorothy, discovered him in the mythical kingdom of Oz, searching for a heart. Note that the tin men here have heart designs affixed to their chests
