Summary
Significance: Having been constructed by the Chrysler Corporation in 1940, Detroit Arsenal contains one of America's foremost World War II manufacturing plants. An important example of industrial design, by war's end it accounted for one-fourth of all tank production in the United States, and was the single largest producer of tanks anywhere in the world.
