Summary

Significance: Part of the naval facilities at Fort Randall, this 1942 Quonset hut served as the neuro-psychiatric ward of the World War II dispersed hospital complex there. In 1984 it was the last surviving example in the Aleutians of a Quonset hut psychiatric ward. While it was in near ruin at that time, two cells were intact. This ward was used during the Lend-Lease program but it is not clear if the facility was used by American or Russian personnel.
