Summary
Significance: The rock retaining walls are considered significant for their association with Air Force history in northern California, and with World War II actions in the Pacific Theater. The rock terracing at Hamilton Field is an integral part of the base landscaping, simultaneously separating individual residences while visually uniting various section of the base into an overall city-like plan. The rock walls are considered a contributing structure to the historic district.
