If you boys can agree you may get something from Santy

description

Summary

Cartoon shows President Coolidge talking to three farmers labeled "Farmers' Union," " National Grange," and "Farm Bureau Association." They hold papers reading "Brookhart Proposition," " McNary Haugen," and "Curtis-Aswell-Bill." During the 1920s, the farmers failed to gain the prosperity enjoyed by the rest of the country. Various solutions were proposed, but they were thwarted by the failure of the farm organizations to work together and by President Coolidge's refusal to entertain price supports or overseas dumping. In November 1927, the President, somewhat disingenuously, asserted that if the groups failed to agree on a program, the responsibility would be theirs.
