R. K. LeBlond Machine Tool Company, Front Office Block, 2980 Madison Road, Norwood, Hamilton County, OH
Summary
Significance: The four story front office block with its clock tower is the symbolic "face" of the factory. The building contained most of the non-production functions of the factory such as executive offices, drafting, cafeteria and even warehousing of completed products. This part of the complex has the most architectural detailing even though it is somewhat limited. This building and the power house smokestack convey the industrial image to the world and carry the company's name and logo. Formal ceremonies and company advertising literature made use of the facade of this building; framed in the trees, the southeast corner of it presented Le Blond's image to the community.
