Pictorial paper covers reproduce in color the materials of the regimental uniform used to bind Nicholas II's copy (see note for LC Copy 2). Gilt vignettes on p. 1 and 15 of text. Lacks the folded plate in 1881 edition showing regimental uniforms.
Portraits at front are of Nicholas I, Alexander II, Alexander III, and Nicholas II.
Appendix, p. [153] to end, provides names of officers, biographies of commanding officers, dates of service.
LC Copy 1 probably part of the Yudin Collection: book label of bookseller V. Klochkov mounted on p. [184].
LC Copy 2 bound in cloth, ribbon, and black lambskin from a regimental uniform, decorated with a military medal and fastened with gold buttons and braid. Ribbons of orders of St. Andrew and St. George have ribbon overlays stamped in gold: 1854-1856-1877 and 1878. Has the blue and white circular book label of Nicholas II. Has Library of Congress accession no. 409629 dated [19]31.
