Ragamuffin Street. Roumanian children playing in one of the outlaying streets of Bucharest, which is known as ragamuffin street because of the numbers and condition of the children that inhabit it. The rage worn by these children are typical of the condition of thousands before the American Red Cross distributed several scoretons of used American clothing amonng boys and girls throughout the country. Red Cross workers in charge of the anti-typhus fight in Roumania last night tried to clear up such spots as these discovering that the unsanitary conditions under which the children played was a great breeding center for the disease

Mr. Carpenter keeps up with the news of the day. Buying an American paper in Bucharest a few weeks after it was published The Military Club of Bucharest. Military life is popular here as there is so much to do. Few years of peace are allowed these Balkan states and eastern monarchies.
