A Junior Red Cross War Orphan. This is one of the homeless children of France that the Junior Red Cross of America is helping to feel less lonely. Born in Burieux little Marie is now without parents or any home. At one of the large temporary orphanages in the Verdun section she is beginning to know that far away friends in America are responsible for her warm noon meal of chocolate, soup and bread and for the woolen sweater, shoes, stockings and under clothing that have kept her comfortable all through the winter

Insulators and bus wires in the switchyard of the TVA's Chickamauga Dam, located near Chattanooga, 471 miles above the mouth of the Tennessee River. The dam has an authorized power installation of 81,000 kilowatts, which can be increased to a possible ultimate of 108,000 kilowatts. The reservoir at the dam adds 377,000 acre feet of water to controlled storage on the Tennessee River system.
