U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor, Berthing Wharf K-1, Kuahua Peninsula, west of Laffey Street, Pearl City, Honolulu County, HI

description

Summary

Significance: Wharf K-1 is a 367 feet long by 42 feet wide structure consisting of a concrete deck on concrete piles. Plans for repair work to Wharf K-1 are included in Special Project R2-88, which proposes to demolish 200 linear feet of the existing concrete wharf and construct a new sheet pile quaywall with tiebacks, fender system, and asphaltic concrete paving. As a Category 3 structure, it has been determined that Wharf K-1 functioned as part of the Pearl Harbor Naval Base, but is only of minor importance to the historic character of the National Historic Landmark.
