Summary
Significance: Located on a prominent corner in the Pennsylvania Avenue Historic District, this structure represents the early commercial development along the avenue in the mid-19th Century. It forms a strong corner anchor to two cohesive rows of Nineteenth Century structures. The structure is first recorded as housing an 'oyster saloon' in Boyd's Directory-1871.
