Summary
Significance: The concrete-lined canal was an integral component of the original Cove system. It conveyed water from the screen house, through the upper gate house. It served as the transition feature from the screen house to the wood and concrete flume and contained the wasteway (bypass) that allowed operators to channel water away from the flume when flows needed to be reduced or stopped for repair purposes or for the purpose of providing agreed upon volumes of irrigation water.
