Summary
Printed in Istanbul, a history of the first secular school in Bulgaria. The Gabrovo School, founded in 1835, trained Bulgarian teachers and employed such notable scholars as Neofit Rilski.
Has added lithographed t.p. incorporating portraits of V.E. Aprilov and N.S. Palauzov inside a whimsical border. Facing page bears a printed memorial to Aprilov and Palauzov, founders of the school. Added t.p. is signed by the lithographer in Roman typeface: Ad. Birnstein, Lith.
