summary: In 1984, Custer County native Vern Souders, photographs RG2608-1066, RG2608-2435a, RG2608-2435b, and RG2608-2435c, show different generations of Merna, Nebraska. Originally, Merna was located as a sod house/ store owned by a Mr. Brotherton. The town was later mover to be cloer to Dale, nebraska/ Whent he railroad went through its tract came closer to the original site, and so the town was moved back. The sod house in RG2608-1066 is the original house/ store. RG2608-2435b and RG2608-2435c are thought to show the town at its location near Dale, and RG2608-2435a shows the town after its relocation back to its original site.
