Significance: This structure is purportedly the original residence in which Michael Kohl and his family lived immediately after they acquired the property. Adapted for use as a blacksmith shop after the larger house (HABS No. WI-348-A) was completed, the structure is significant as an element that contributes to the overall integrity of the early twentieth-century Kohl Farmstead.
